Turkey Syria Emergency Appeal
Overview
In February 2023, a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria, leaving entire communities destroyed and thousands of families displaced.
Salam Charity launched an immediate emergency response to provide life-saving aid to those affected, delivering food, shelter, warmth, and essential supplies in some of the hardest-hit areas.
Operating in extreme weather conditions and amid ongoing rescue efforts, our teams worked on the ground to support families who lost their homes, loved ones, and access to basic necessities. This campaign continues to address both urgent needs and early recovery efforts.
Goals
- Provide immediate life-saving assistance to earthquake survivors
- Ensure access to food, warmth, shelter, and hygiene supplies
- Support displaced families during the harsh winter conditions
- Assist injured individuals and overstretched rescue teams
- Contribute to early recovery and long-term rebuilding efforts
Impact
Since the emergency response began, Salam Charity has delivered critical aid to thousands of people affected by the disaster, including:
40 family-sized thermal tents
225 heaters
1,050 stoves/heaters
