Our Pledge to You
At Salam Charity USA, we are committed to using every donation to support our humanitarian services and programs. Even if a campaign does not meet its fundraising goal, your contribution will still be directed toward the charity's mission and used where it is needed most.

Emergency campaigns
Sponsored challenge events (domestic or international)

Policy Guidelines
2(a)
Donations will always be used to advance Salam Charity's mission: supporting young people and families, primarily in developing countries, through poverty relief, healthcare, education, and community support.
2(b)
If a donation is not tied to a specific campaign and there is no legal obligation to return it, our Board of Trustees may decide whether a moral obligation exists to issue a refund.
2(c)
Donors may submit a written request to reclaim a donation if a campaign fails, as allowed under applicable charity laws. Such requests will be reviewed by our Trustees.
2(d)
If the donation was made toward a Sponsored Challenge Event, and the refund request comes from the donor (not the fundraiser), Salam Charity will notify the fundraiser before any action is taken.
2(e)
If a donation was collected through a group activity (such as a car wash, crowdfunding campaign, or deployment), refunds cannot be considered unless each contributing donor submits an individual written request.
2(f)
To request a refund, donors must write to the Trustees by email or letter, explaining the campaign, the donation, and the reason for the request.
2(g)
If the Trustees determine there is a moral case for a refund, Salam Charity will apply to the appropriate regulatory authority for approval of an ex gratia payment.
2(h)
If a refund is approved, it will only be made to the original donor. Refunds will not be issued to third parties or alternate accounts.
Legal Obligation to Return a Donation
There may be rare cases where Salam Charity is legally required to return a donation. For example:
Failed Campaigns
If funds raised for a specific purpose cannot be used as intended, donors may be entitled to a refund unless the campaign materials clearly stated that funds would be redirected to general charitable purposes.
Cooling-Off Periods
In certain circumstances, donations made through professional fundraisers or commercial partners may be eligible for a refund if requested within a short "cooling-off" window.
When legally required, Salam Charity will comply with refund requests in line with U.S. charitable law and regulations.
Moral Obligation to Return a Donation
Even if not legally required, Salam Charity may decide that there is a moral obligation to refund a donation. In such cases, our Trustees will seek approval from the appropriate governing body to process the refund as an ex gratia payment.
Summary
Donations are used to further Salam Charity's mission, even if a campaign does not reach its goal.
Refunds may be granted in cases of legal requirement, moral obligation, or special approval.
Refunds are only made to the original donor, never to third parties.
