The Ghana Water Wells
Overview
In Tamale, thousands of families were relying on unsafe, stagnant water sources, exposing entire communities especially women and children to disease, danger, and daily hardship.
Through the construction of a deep borehole well, this campaign provided a sustainable, long-term solution that restores health, safety, and dignity to the local community.
Goals
- Provide safe and clean drinking water to underserved communities in Northern Ghana
- 1 deep borehole well constructed in Tamale, North Ghana
- Eliminate long and dangerous journeys for water, especially for women and girls
- Support livelihoods by enabling access to water for livestock and agriculture
- Deliver a fast, high-impact water solution within a one-month timeframe
Impact

Around 1,000 people gained access to clean, safe drinking water
Eliminated the 5km daily walk previously undertaken by women and girls
Significant reduction in exposure to parasites and waterborne diseases
Improved protection against disease outbreaks, including COVID-19
The well is expected to serve the community for up to 20 years
